WHAT IS “COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE”?
Comprehensive Coverage is no-fault auto insurance that covers the cost of replacing or repairing damage to your car caused by something OTHER than a wreck. This is the insurance coverage that pays for damage to your car caused by something other than another car.
WHEN DOES “COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE” APPLY?
Comprehensive coverage applies to almost any type of loss to your car that is NOT the result of an auto accident. For example, this coverage comes into play for:
IS “COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE” MANDATORY?
Comprehensive Coverage is not legally required. However, if you have a loan or lease your car, then the lien holder usually requires that you carry this coverage. If you want to actually have “full coverage” on your vehicle, you need to get comprehensive coverage.
